Firstly I have won as many Melbourne Cups as Gai Waterhouse.
She has shit me for decades. She has done nothing in the Melbourne Spring Carnival. A few weeks ago one of her horses won a Caulfield Cup, her first one. Seriously she has no idea how to train horses for Melbourne. She should stick to the Autumn Carnival in Sydney.
When she wins a Melbourne Cup I might listen to her bullshit ramblings.

Gai continues her amazing streak. No doubt Channel 9 will be crossing to her for all the action. I do not know why. how did her big chance go:

Isn't she from a family of horsebreeders and racers?
Yes she is. her father was TJ Smith who was a legendary trainer.
But she has won only 9 of her 46 Group 1 races in Victoria in 7 seasons.

Gai will always be a "media darling" for the horseracing industry. She is an articulate boss cocky female in a male dominated business and that is publicity gold.

Yes a media darling is one thing. I do not get why she is called upon during the Victorian Spring carnival when she cannot win a cracker.
Being different is one thing but being succesful is another.
